The system obtains its energy by foraging – engaging in biologically-inspired, organism-like, energy-harvesting behavior which is the equivalent of eating. It can find, ingest, and extract energy from biomass in the environment (and other organically-based energy sources), as well as use conventional and alternative fuels (such as gasoline, heavy fuel, kerosene, diesel, propane, coal, cooking oil, and solar) when suitable.
Foraging in war zones presents plenty of options for the discerning robot palate, such as human corpses. How long though before a fleet of these bastards rises up and learns to kill its food. I give you the flesh eating robot.
I thank you for the kind comments re: my attempts to induce an alcohol related coma in you as the ultimate birthday gift. As usual, I failed miserably but we sure had a hell of alot of fun trying.
