*I’ve been reading alot here lately and no matter what how you roll, you should check this out: Dosenation.
*I’ve been meaning to embed this into the fibers of this blog but i keep getting distracted with the station itself. Tonight you can find a top ten soundtrack from early 90′s classic punk @ my blip.fm station. If you havent signed up yet, you should get onboard and start broadcasting your crockpot of taste to the world. Mine is insane: AZ next to the Ramones, next to some emo-pop kids from Israel who are plopped down right next to Catherine Wheel who sits somewhere by Souls of Mischief and Ghostland Observatory. Its really random and good. Sign up!
*Hug Life: (i get a kick out of the name of the project) this and the next bit are pretty cool pieces about the New York street art scene. This is the Hug Life project and the people who saved it: Hug Life 1 and then this ray of hope for all humanity: Hug Life 2
*More from Unurth: This time someone Ive been paying close attention to over the past 6/7 months; Bumblebee from LA.
Below is an excerpt of his interview with Unurth, click the hive for the rest of the interview plus a great gallery of photos, like the one above.
“The ‘newspaper stand’ is soon becoming a forgotten way to communicate with the public. With more online news subscriptions being made, newspaper companies are leaving these structures abandoned. I want to use this endangered specie as a new way to communicate with the public once more. This is achieved using the concept of ‘site specific’ in the real world as well as the online world, and also by introducing a different concept of ‘time specific’. This technique helps to create a story on the street as well as the webpage in which the images are added to. Each newspaper stand represents a single page in the story “The Story of How Things Came to Bee”. Once the newspaper stand is placed back in the location from which it was originally borrowed from, a picture is taken at the exact time in which the story takes place. By adding the images to the webpage it allows for a narrative to bee created by using ‘notes’ (these are viewed by scrolling over the image) which can not bee seen on the street. Lastly, a map showing the locations of the newspaper stand is sited as well, allowing the online viewer to travel to each location and view these scenes in real life.”
