On the chopping block this Winter is a barely used, 2k8 Lib Tech Dark Series (magnetraction). This deck has been out for only 2 sessions, neither of them park, nor on ice. It was the wrong board for the original rider whose focus is more backcountry and high speed groomers/technical trees. An excellent deal for any park rider; this mint deck is yours for $200. Why dont I want it? Ive already got 6 boards to play with this year, i need to trim the fleet.

The Lib Technologies Dark Series Snowboard was developed with progressive riders in mind for use in terrain parks and on rails. The board is formed with wave-shaped magnetraction edges to create as many contact points as possible, making even the iciest of locales seem as though they have just been groomed. Lib Tech’s well known Golden Fleece composite core provides additional pop, resulting in maximum boost on any kicker. The UHMW sidewalls are designed to stand up to any rail riding and the sintered base is perfect for highly charged in-runs.

Riders who have experience with the Lib Tech Dark Series consider it one of the better products available on the market for freestyle riding. Providing a smoother, stronger response on nearly every style of terrain, the Dark Series has the right flex for any jumps and rails and takes on the half pipe, parks, and downhills with equal intensity. The Dark Series board never loses its traction even on solid ice and has the perfect spin weight for jumps. It is recommended to detune the magne-traction slightly after purchasing the board to enhance the performance on ice.
