A little over a week has passed since ive felt the keys under my fingers, Ive missed the action, its good to be online proper, instead of DroidLine. Ive returned to the Fortress of Doom to sleep for one night, watch as much Science Channel as possible and drink Irish liquor in my boxers; I am leaving again, come morning. The Holidaze are almost over and I couldn’t be happier, never been a Holiday sort even though mine are spent in the finest company possible; year after year. The snow forecast has improved and we are looking for something to start happening in the way of accumulation come Tuesday but all in all, its been a massive drought. Its hard sitting around waiting to get in the trees, or way up in the High places where the good stuff really hides but that’s what we have been doing, just waiting for the dope to hit the mountains so we can get ours. Its good being a mountain person, I wouldn’t have it any other way but maybe part of that is being able to come down into the world that pays for it, and hide behind big curtains and in front of big screens. I still haven’t booked my AK trip but Im heading up there next week I believe, for a week or so. Im really looking forward to it so I need to get on the ball and book a room/tickets. I hate to fly although I have millions of air-miles under my belt. AK seems a fair trade for sitting in a tiny plane next to the coughing infected.
I read something briefly about a Nigerian who tried to blow up a plane this week, on our soil. I don’t understand this, most people don’t I would imagine. I swept through HuffPost to get an overview of the situation while I was on the road and all that really stood out to me was the same thing that stood out about the Fort Hood tragedy: The Feds were alerted about this douche at least a year before, by his own father. Bombings are commonplace now, thank Christ we don’t have as many as others in the world but where is the disconnect with our Government and stopping this cowardly shit before it gets this far. The argument would be “how many do they prevent, and how many leads do the get a day” but to that I say, are we not the most powerful country in the world, militarily? Can we not prevent this?
I do not understand the disillusion of people who would bomb not just an airplane in our country, but a market in Iraq or a bank in London. What I do understand is simple: it is getting more and more organized all the time. This planet is getting really small, really fast.
Im sure there is alot more going on, I have readers stuffed with all sorts of things to review but I dont see getting to it all tonight. Other than what churns out tonight, there wont be much going on this week except a midweek snow report delivered from the Droid. Speaking of stuffed: thanks to all for the Holiday cards in the inbox and postbox, I enjoy every one of them.
