Im sick of the news; lets get on to the weekend snow report: Thursday night through Sunday night Stevens Pass.
Hardcore Spring condys this weekend all over the mountain no matter how high you went in elevation. The snow was really heavy by each afternoon and the days riding was really good and hard since night ski-ing has been dismantled for the Season, we only have til 4pm now to hammer out our runs. Morning groomers were fast and fun although choppy in spots due to warm weather melt then overnight freeze. Sunday Morning we were doing hardcore speed runs down Barrier Ridge and I lost a back edge and checked on my ass for a good 50′. The day before I tree-welled on Southern Cross pretty hard and had to strap out and dig back to life but thats just the nature of Spring ski. Snow heavy in the afternoons and fast in the morning. Get there early and stay late. Any sort of jumps are great in the afternoons, its like landing in a huge white slushy. Pics to come.
Alot of rigs are packing up for the Season and both lots are pretty empty. We dropped anchor in the Upper Lot all weekend and had fires and drinks with the neigbhors each afternoon/night. All in all it was a lot of fun but the time is almost over to hang the gear til next year. Two weeks left at Stevens then its Idaho til the end.
