Fagging out+Change

Might be getting sick. Shit might be hitting the fan in my lungs…maybe.
Starting to “fag out” as they used to say in old London.

Congestion, swollen nodes and sore throat, plus I keep forgetting to eat, I get home at 7pm every night and realize Ive barely had breakfast yet, at 14 hours into my day already. It aint good. Aint no good at all.

re: renovation.

Ive come up with an idea for Ninja and after a few days of stewing, its starting to look better and better. I need a more mobile solution to running this site than I have now but I don’t the have time for a laptop and all of its lumpy functions. The girl has a lightning fast Mac but I reckon she would be a bit toothy about parting with it, especially into the beeyard alongside a rototiller or chainsaw. I really fancy the idea of a collapsible keyboard and smarter phone than the Droid v.1, such as I wield now. So, what if I got a better mobile device, the accompanied keyboard and changed yet again the design of the site to allow easier and faster posting, allowing me to run 75% of this over my phone? The other 25% can come late at night after Ive been drinking and decide to use my words.
So why not? Shipwreck Honey is getting a brand new rebuild right now and it is actually similar to this current setup except way slicker, maybe I dumb Ninja down and therefore post more often, if anything less meatily. Photoblogging my moments and posting them in real time.

Im gonna give it a shot I think.

Change is good people, the currency of success I think someone once said and if they didnt and I just spewed that out then I claim it for my own.

I grew up on Old Sam Clemens, Louis’ L’Amour and Zane Grey; it worked out pretty well for me then and it serves me well now as a functioning adult. I recall as a young buck Clemens’ beady eyed descriptive of Injun Jim hunkered down in that cave eating what bats he could catch; ready to knife Sawyer and Finn for discovery of himself at any moment, I was so wrapped up in the story I found myself speculating into the dark and quiet night that my brother (who is half indian himself by my mothers first marriage) might somehow be related to Injun Joe and do me in too, the same way with a big bowie knife! I resolved to keep an eye on him for the rest of the month to make sure I foiled whatever “planned job” he had in mind. I still have the very novel I first read as a boy from L’Amour, called Catlow, it sits in my bookshelf even now. Catlow knew how to get a woman, especially those saloon girls. I wished I was like him back then and I had a mental list of who I knew in church or school groups that I would call Senorita’ and turn into a dancin girl, just for me. Nothing ever came through with those dancin girls and my brother never knifed me but I was ready for both despite the odds. I suppose had my folks known I was reading as much as I was, some of in such stark contrast to the upbringing they had in mind, they might have throttled the deal. They did not however and I read voraciously, tilling my already over-fertile imagination over and over again. My brother is always eager to tell the story of Can-Can the indian dancing girl we met at a pow-wow as kids. I must have been 10 or 11 at the time and just coming off the Sackett series from L’Amour; she was a big deal to me and my brother picked up on it immediately. I, the totally white kid with huge blonde hair and bright blue eyes that didnt quite fit my own frame and my 3 year older brother with his devilish smile, chiseled brown features and glittering green eyes, always able to swing the girls in with nary a word. He got CanCan in close to us for an introduction after he quietly told me to ask her what tribe she was a Squaw in. He knew I’d read it a thousand times in my books and that I would do it because it made sense and my older brother was an indian, he must have some preternatural sense about other indians, right? Well I did ask her where she “squawed at” and as you can guess she didnt favor that too much. My brother did though, he howled for days on that one, hell, he still does. Point being maybe I should have been edited on that one, no? So maybe sometimes in real life an edit is ok, but in books of historical import, or none whatsoever I say leave em be. Kudos to the artist for making this and kudos to Injun Joe for getting his degree in Hotel Management.
I had one hell of a chuckle when I first saw this over the weekend.

growing up. growing up. growing up.

really what does that mean? debt? monogamy? sobriety? spiritualism?

Im not saying fuck growing up, but I am saying…..fuck growing up.

Fuck being serious about everything forever. Why cant everybody be kids forever? Maybe its just the lucky ones who can laugh to the grave. I hope to hell I laugh all the way down…Ive been laughing all along so far so its been a good run, sure. (doesnt even make sense, of course the lucky ones laugh all the way out)

My girlfriend ran off to go find herself (not funny), she hasnt seen herself she says, in ages; I havent seen myself since she left and its about driving me nuts. I want to laugh again, make fun of people, drink cheerily into the night, plan trips, scheme and behave like an overall degenerate. Whats so wrong with that? Its how I roll. I reckon moments like this are sample bits of what it means to be an adult. Serious reflection on failures and loss which lends itself handily to: boring DISAPOINTED, predictable shit. In fact, not just shit….but shit that you created for yourself. Like a hippo in a wallow spackling his back with his own dung-spray. My buddy Nicky Glasses used to always say he felt like the marble in a game of hungry hippos, but we never brought up the assdung spray. We probably just didnt know about that back then.

I slit the throat of my facebook account this morning, its been supremely distracting to me so it had to go. I thought I buried the body deep enough but then I got an email telling me I had two weeks to change my mind, they had saved all my settings and if I did the right thing I could get all my friends back. Made me chuckle, get all my friends back.

Facebook can blow me, and it better smile when it does otherwise I will burn the house down. Right, Mel?

Lets discuss my four points:

debt: I have none.

monogamy: I already am.

sobriety: no chance in hell will I quit.

spiritualism: Im getting there.

Looks to me Im half grown up. 50% of the way there but I get the bonus round because I have no children or ex wives, right? If I stop right here, I just might be able to find a balance?

I know I know, your reading this and asking yourself why. Good question. Why are you reading this? Am I on a self loathing headtrip where I pound out my angst against the ergonomic keyboard and hope you catch a little heat? No this isnt a self pity party, Im a big boy…but right now Im a pissed off big boy. Pissed off at………

who gives a damn. lets listen to music, the world can wait for my rants. Im pissed off at all of humanity this week….

Did you guys see the Sunday night WTF post? I mean really, what the fuck is with the first video. Holy shit.

The 67-page online publication, written in colloquial English and launched last month, features flashy graphics and punchy headlines like “Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom,” as well an article on global warming said to be written by Bin Laden.

Fox News pays off in spades every few months, this one is a jackpot. ……..admit it, Bin Laden writing about global warming is funny.
