the sex calendar

If your a dude youve seen it, if your not; youve done it….we all know about the sex calendar or more famously….The Smiley System. I will never forget the first one I saw that related directly to me and ever since then I have kept one of my own. Some years I keep smiley faces, some years I just use the letter S….but at the end of each calendar quarter I add up my emoticons/letters and rejoice in what I have done. As you may expect: the more I have, the happier I am. This year…so far…I have tallied 48 S’s since Nov 26, 2009.
Since day one, an emoticon or S=Shred.
48 days this year! Just added em up on the overall calendar I use, not just the ones for Stevens Pass.
Pretty impressive isnt it.
All of it made possible by a murdered out motorhome and a give a damn attitude about how late I get up there.

Small Thoughts on Bees

When I first walked into the Bee Clinic last Thursday I was immediately overcome with all sorts of smells: the sharpness of wax, sweetness of honey and crisp fragrant wood frames for hive building. I want my house to smell the same way…it was really good. REALLY good.
In 4 to 5 more weeks I will be a beekeeper. I already want to get technical with it, I want to buck all the odds of urban beekeeping and time my little harvests with the nectar flows I know I will score, instead of the easier once a year harvest where you get a conglomerate of pollens making ~~mutt~~ “urban” honey. I want small scores like the cherry, blackberry and lilac flows. I want the same thing with this that Ive always wanted with everything but Winter: Boutique/Cottage/Specialty Acts/Perfectionism/Low Volume-High Demand.

I need to build a new website/bloggo for this dont I….
I want this project pretty bad..

The results showed that bees clearly prefer nectar containing nicotine and caffeine over the “clean” nectar. The preferred nicotine concentration was 1 milligram per liter, similar to that found in nature. Given a choice of higher levels of nicotine versus “clean” nectar, the bees preferred the latter.

A group of bees were shown pictures of human faces and pictures of random geometric designs, and rewarded with sugar when they visited the pictures of faces. After doing this for a while, the bees were shown a different set of images that resembled faces; they flew toward these face-like pictures though they’d never seen them before.

Crystal Mtn Rendevous

Crystal Mountain has formally invited the Stevens Pass motorhome lot(s) to rendevous with them in March, for a weekend of hospitality and late season skiing. Beyond the political nightmare that is our dark albeit yet unknown destiny at Stevens Pass Lower Lot, I think its a fine idea to make a Crystal Mountain Fun Run the weekend of 3.26-3.28. As of this posting, there are 8 rigs that have confirmed the trip, all from Lower Lot. Email me at rage_x@hotmail.com for caravan dates, input and roster; or join the Facebook Group.

Crystal has a first come first serve power setup for 20$/night or unpowered slots for 10$/night.
